Great site! I can still hear the ocean
sliding by the skin of the ship as I
checked my eyes for leaks in the O.I.
berthing compartment. I do miss my time on
the Truxtun. She was a very meaningfull
era of my life. The sunrises were beyond
description. And we did see the Eye Of The
Dragon, not once but twice. When we
traversed the Marianes Trench, the deepest
part of the ocean. It was here that I
threw a match overboard and my BRAND NEW
ACUTRON watch went with it... At $112.00
and having only owned it for a out 30
minutes, well you do the math... Thanks to
all who knew me, thanks for sharing that

Great site! I was on the 70-71 westpac. I
was in Supply Div. I did buy a cruise book
but somehow never received it. This is the
first time I've seen it. If you are up to
imaging through e-mail, I would be
eternally grearful. Seeing the book
reminds me that I made the pirate flag for
us pollywogs and I also hung over the side
of the ship and painted our White and
black Supply Div. "E" on the side while on
line duty. I remember many faces from
those pictures. Great Job Dave!

I served aboard the Tommy-T from 1987 thru
1988. It was a great experience. I was in
1st Division as a BMSN but was promoted to
BM3 after I tested aboard the Truxtun,
then transitioned to reserves.

MM-1 in "M"Div. then transfered to "A"Div
after AC&R school. Saw several shipmates
leave and come back a couple years later.
Also, remember one of the first torpedos
fired hit the hand rail and ended up in
the ocean nose down, just bobbing around??

Hi Dave! Great job with the cruise books.
I came onboard Aug 71 just after you got
back from WESTPAC. I left the Tommy T just
after refueling her in July of 75. Kinda
sad knowing she's gone but her memories
live on with us!
Let me know if I can help with
anything.
